"SPEAKING LIFE INTO YOU"

ABOUT

MEET DR. JOE GRIFFIN

Dr. Joe Griffin is a sought after motivational speaker, educational consultant, poet, and author. Dr. Griffin was born and raised in Clarksdale, MS, known as,  "The Home Of The Blues". Growing up in a single parent home, Dr. Griffin is a product of triumph. Dr. Griffin was able to overcome the influences of “gang wars” and racial tension, all while accomplishing his dream of playing basketball on a collegiate scholarship, standing at just five feet-seven inches. He was also able to gain his A.A. and B.A. before coming short of playing professionally overseas, that took a pivot due to an injury.

Through his love for poetry and basketball, Dr. Griffin used that passion to pave the way to attain a range of degrees that started with an A.A. and a B.A. in English on Academic and Athletic scholarships to Coahoma Community College and Beinaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. He later gained another 24 graduate hours in English from the University of West Alabama after attaining a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Delta State University. Both his Specialist and Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership and Research were completed at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Dr. Griffin’s social and educational background provided him the opportunity to forge into his professional experience as an English teacher on all levels, from K-12, Junior College, and Senior College. Even as a turnaround principal, and after posting a proven track record of success in raising student achievement within several school districts, Dr. Griffin never lost his love for his childhood passions of poetry and writing. In 2023, Dr. Griffin moved into entrepreneurship and established Dr. Joe Griffin Global Consulting, LLC. Prior to his first publication "Home of the Blues: Poems for the Spirit, Heart, and Soul,"  Dr. Griffin published his dissertation entitled, "Discipline-Culture and Instructional Practices: An Integrated Leader's Role (2020)”. It is this framework that Dr. Griffin hopes to share with leaders, teachers, and students to help make the impact required to raise student achievement.
